What can I do with a New York real estate license?

Once you obtain your New York real estate license you will be able to represent sellers or landlords to sell or lease their property, or represent buyers or tenants looking to buy or rent a property, and earn a commission in the process.

You will also be able to work in the leasing industry, as a leasing consultant or property manager. This applies to all types of real estate (residential, commercial, or industrial) throughout New York.

1. Leasing Consultant: $35,000

Main Duties: Leasing consultants are the first point of contact for tenants and landlords in the leasing process. They work with clients to find the best property match and then walk them through the lease agreement.

The salary for this position can vary greatly based on location, but it is typically a low-stress, entry-level role in the real estate industry.

Main Duties: Home inspectors are responsible for conducting inspections of homes prior to sale.
